Uncharted Mission

Hi, I’m D.C. Keane, and I’m probably the last guy you would think would care about the world beyond my Northern California home. (I mean the real Northern California, hours north of the Bay Area.) But when I met Jesus at 15 years-old and started reading the Bible, something changed inside. I began to understand what he did for me, and it seemed like the most reasonable thing in the world to tell others. After reading J. Hudson Taylor: God’s Man in China, C.T. Studd and Through Gates of Splendour I realized there are places in the world that do not have access to this good news. All I wanted to do was find those places and love those people in Jesus’ name.

I went to Urbana in 1987 and heard that missionaries to Muslims were one-in-a-million. I knew nothing about Islam, but I knew that was not right. I asked God to send me to them with his love. My wife and I have tried to go several times.

But God had a different plan. He has used me for over 35 years to encourage and send others. I finally think that is my calling!

Today we call those people groups with no church in their own culture Unreached and those with no one seeking to establish it, Unengaged. 

Some of you will go to the unreached or unengaged no matter what I do or anyone else does. You’re just going to do it. So go! Do it!

Some of you will never go no matter what I do or anyone else does. That’s OK. Find out what God made your for and do that!

But most of you who are bothered when you hear of people with no access to the Gospel need help, like me. I have done a lot of short-term trips to some pretty far away places and helped others to move there. 

And I can help you figure out if you are made for the frontiers.

So let’s walk the path together and see what God does!
